Six Weeks Old... ALREADY!!

Daddy and Noah nap on the couch one Monday afternoon when Ed had the day off, and I was still on "leave". I didn't stray far from their side, for fear one of them might decide to roll over, but no worries, nobody moved. I think they might have BOTH drooled on the leather though. ha

Bathtime had become SUCH a fun time. Noah loves his cozy towels after a nice warm soak in the tub. I couldn't resist this perfect shot of innocence. Wonder how long this innocent charm will last. hahaha.

The hint of a smile! Noah's been smiling more lately (not just gas, either), but I never seem to have the camera handy when we're laughing and smiling together. I cherish those moments so much, that I just freeze and sit over him, laughing with him, trying to coax him on and get more giggles out of him. I'm sure I'll be able to capture a HUGE grin in no time. And you can bet I'll share it with all of you when I do.

Fighting sleep is always part of the game. Here Noah tries to rid himself of a burp, with dad's help, before taking his evening nap. This picture was just a half hour ago, and he's already awake again, and ready for a couple hours of hanging out with mommy and daddy! He's growing so much and we love him so deeply!

Daily Routine...

We spend most of our days talking to Noah, looking at him (he's so cute, you can't help but stare at him!), and just wondering what he's thinking about. Above, he's trying out a little swing he got... no big cheers, but he didn't seem to hate it either. Below, Ed sits with Noah in the evening and they just hang out! He's SUCH a good baby (never fussy), that he's easy going and just hangs out on our laps!
After a few hours of conversation in the evenings, if we aren't sure how to keep him awake a little longer, but we're not quite ready for him to crash for the night yet, it's always a good choice to pop him into a bath... he loves the water (can't you see the excitement on his face? ha)... he lets his legs float and just hangs out in the water. Ben claims he's NOT going to let Noah be a swimmer, but I'm thinking he might just like water that much!!! (I can hope anyway).
After a mid-day bath, you can see how hard our little guy crashes (below).... he's out like a light! Water really is the ultimate soother! I wish someone would bathe me, dress me, and rock me to sleep from time to time. ha.

Trying New Toys

Noah isn't too sure what to think of those toys hanging over his head. I'm sure once he gets better coordination of his hands and he can hit at them, and grab them, he'll like this play-mat that his biggest brother bought for him. For now, he just likes the bright colors.

Proud Big Brother

Ben went with me to the baby shower that my co-workers threw for Noah... he had so much fun.
I told him it'd be only women there, but he didn't mind. He can visit and laugh with everyone... they were impressed by his conversational ease. Plus, Ben liked the treats that were there to be devoured. Our weekend has two more baby showers, so Noah will be more than "showered" with love, affection, cuddles, and gifts. (yes, he sleeps through most everything, so is missing all the fun). ha.

Ben's Outdoor Hockey Game

Ben had his first outdoor hockey game, and of course it was snowing (go figure, in ND). All of his other games are played on an indoor rink, but this was a fun, unscheduled game they threw into the team calendar. It didn't seem to slow down the action though, as the kids all played hard and had a blast!
Only in North Dakota would we have a "human Zamboni" in the form of the referee, clearing off the ice between periods. We laughed about the weather that day, and stayed in the car to keep ourselves warm and out of the icy wind.
As we stayed warm in the vehicle on the sidelines of the rink, Auntie Kristen snuck a little snooze as she held a sleeping Noah.... she claimed she was just leading by example, showing him how to nap, but she wasn't fooling us... she was out like a light, just as Noah was. TOO CUTE! She deserved a rest, she's been stressed out lately. Nothing more soothing than a sleeping baby to put one's worries to rest, if only for a little bit.

3 weeks old already!!!

With Kristen, Sydney, and Tom visiting for the weekend, Noah didn't suffer from a lack of attention, that's for sure! Everyone loved him to pieces, and cuddled him as much as possible!
Sydney gazes down on her little cousin with love! She fell in love with him instantly, as we all have!
Thomas really shined as the older big cousin! He's going to make a GREAT dad someday (not too soon, ok Tom?)! He loved the little guy, and was so natural and gentle holding him! They bonded, and I'm sure will have lots of sports conversations for years to come!

Two Weeks Old (Time Flies)

Biggest Brother Matt loves Noah as they cuddle in the living room. Noah is fascinated by Matt's out-of-control hair. Mommy thinks he needs a haircut, but teenagers can't be told these things. ha. Wait until Noah gets a good fistful in a few months, and maybe Matt will have a change of heart then. ha
Daddy asks Noah "How Big Are You?" And they play the "SO-BIG" game. Noah is always happy to just play and gaze at us, and we're just as happy to pass the time playing with and gazing at Noah. He's melted our hearts forever.
Bath time isn't one of Noah's favorites parts of the day, just yet. But, I am going to keep hoping that his dislike of the water changes with time. Here he's finally at least calm, and not pitching as big of a fuss over the bath session just moments before. He was too cuddly and cute not to capture this moment with the camera. His hair is really as soft and silky as it looks here.
